However, what good class design will do is give each one a role it can inhabit that serves a purpose that isn't outclassed or overshadowed by other options. In the end, no game's class design will ever have true parity, unless homogenisation is an intended design goal. The problem with an OP class in a TTRPG isn't just that it makes it difficult for a GM to properly design and balance encounters, but it risks stepping on the toes of other classes, making fellow party members wonder why they're even there, or at the very least why they're playing their own class when they could play another class that does exactly what they do but better.
